At each mission: look, discuss and decide
Start with the directions in your book and make sure you are at the right location. Read the mission aloud, then give everyone a moment to look around. The answer may depend on noticing something you would normally walk past.
Work through the activities on the page. Take turns sharing ideas: the person holding the book does not have to be the person who solves the clue. Younger explorers can spot details while another team member reads or writes.
Choose your answer and scan the QR code
When the mission offers A, B or C, agree on your answer and scan the matching QR code using your phone camera. Tap the link and press play to watch the short video in your browser.
A correct-answer video moves the story forward; a try-again video sends your team back to investigate. Follow the instructions in the book, record any reward and keep it safe for the final challenge.
Bring the discoveries together for the finale
Each mission is part of a bigger adventure. Keep the rewards you collect and follow your book’s final instructions to complete the mystery. We leave the answers and final reveal out of the website descriptions so you can enjoy solving them yourselves.

How do the QR videos work?
At a QR challenge, follow the instructions in your book and choose your answer. Scan the matching code with your phone camera, open the link and press play. Then return to the book to continue.
What should we bring?
Bring your quest book, a pen or pencil, a charged smartphone and mobile internet access for the videos. Comfortable shoes and clothing suited to the weather will help you enjoy your day.
What if a video will not play?
Check your internet connection, reopen the link and press play. Try your normal phone browser if you opened the page inside another app. The video page also includes a “Video not playing?” section.
